Antiquities

Some time ago I began my search to connect my heritage to the ancestral links of the O'Flaherties of Ireland.  The project I began in 1995 I called "The O'Flaherty Genealogical Project."  It ended when my computer died some time later.  During the few months that my first internet probes were launching, I received emails from people from all over the world, the Irish diaspora has scattered our kinspeople all over the globe.  There are many O'Flaherties seeking that connection to the past.

To you I say, fortuna favet fortibus.  Fortune favors fortitude.

In the next few years I shall attempt to answer the basic question, from which sept am I descended?  From the sept of Sir Murrough Na Doe?  From Sir Murrough Na Maor?  Teige the Furious?

My father's name was William Francis O'Flaherty.
His father's name was Andrew Joseph O'Flaherty (1896 -1945)
